On Wednesday Pandora and I went to see the remake of True Grit- The Cohen Brothers' latest film, starring Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges. Now I'm not normally a big Damon fan, so I was full of bitching and such before we even saw it. He was fantastic though, genuinely loved him. I think it's coz he was a bit fat, and looked a bit like Jamie Oliver.
Jeff Bridges, as always, was stupendous. A little unrealistic or "easy" in places, and a bit too convenient a story, but as far as character depth and progression between friendships goes, it was flawless. I had an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach for the rest of my night, the honesty and beauty of the emotions does pull on the old heart strings. Be warned.
