7 days in the sun, and am only a semi shade darker? Beach babes dreams are over. So back to life, back to reality.
I am happy to report, that on holiday I got over my mind block of "book phobia". For as long as anyone has known me, I have religiously read on average a book a week. However, over the past six months or so, I have been struggling to concentrate on a book for more than twenty pages without getting bored. I began to think there was something seriously wrong with me, so developed a phobia of books. The harder I tried to make myself read, the harder it was to find a book I enjoyed. I had to accept I was becoming incapable of loving a book. Which was devastation. Thank god for New! Magazine, Peter Andre's column was about as much as I could digest without getting distracted or bored.com.
ANYWAYYYYYY, I digress.... Everyone has been banging on about the damn "Millennium" trilogy forever, so I thought, what harm can it do? So, after easing myself into my holiday with Closer Magazine, and Cheryl Cole's latest problems with Ashley, I moved onto my main course- volume one- The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Well, boys and gals, once the book was opened, it was not closed until it was finished. I read the 540 pages in 3 days. Amazing. Truly amazing. This was followed by Bret Easton Ellis' crap attempt of a "day in the life of an LA scene kid in the 80's" book, Less Than Zero. Just the average summer of sex, drugs, rape and finding dead bodies. No biggie. Sureeeeeee.....
Anyway, thankyou Stieg Larsson for curing me of my ailment... And now, round two....
